Do You Want to Become a Renegade? Tryouts on Friday, March 25, 2011

Do You Want to Become a Renegade?  Come join us on Friday, March 25th for a try-out/Demonstration of the sport.

The event will be held at the Brighton High School starting at 6:30 PM The school is located at 25 Warren Street, Brighton, Mass.

For Players:

  • We will teach you the basics of beep baseball
  • We will teach you the basics of hitting and give you a chance to hit
  • We will teach you the basics of defense and allow you a chance to try out some drills
  • We will show you the equipment
  • We will introduce you to some of the players and coaches
  • We will teach you about how the Renegades play ball
  • We will teach you about the Renegade culture

For Volunteers/Coaches:

  • We will teach you the basics of beep baseball
  • We will teach you about different visual impairments
  • We will teach you how to guide a visually impaired person
  • We will give you best practices we use to communicate and coach players
  • We will show you some of the drills we do to improve the players skills
  • We will show you the equipment
  • We will introduce you to some of the players and coaches
  • We will teach you about how the Renegades play ball
  • We will teach you about the Renegade culture

Renegades Appear on Comcast Network

The Boston Renegades appeared on the Comcast Network on a running loop in October and November. This piece was shot by a new friend to the Boston Renegades, Arlen Showstack. The video was shot during the 2010 Blind Citizens Beep Baseball Championship in July. This six minute video features JJ Ward, John Oliveira, Aaron Proctor and Rob Weissman. The video shows many of the Renegades players and coaches in action and talks about the team, the sport and the players.
